Poster Experiment

We decided to test run a green screen to see what the outcome would look like for us to use it for our final poster. We liked what we did with the experimenting and we are probably going to use it when we design our final poster.

Poster layouts

We all designed a poster and magazine each to help gather our ideas together to produce a final product. Our designs for both the magazine and poster (especially mine and Matt's) were similar so this helped to allow us to decide on what layout we are going to use for our final product.
We photographed a rough idea to see what our poster would look like and used the programme photoshop to help us do this.

Auditions

We used our final script for our auditions so we could see what the actual scene would look like as everything was the same apart from the location that we filmed the audition at.

Final Script

We finalised our second draft for our script by adding extra dialogue and further stage directions. Most of this was already done as we have developed on this slowly. Having our script finally produced, we could now move onto the auditioning stage.

Prop List

We created a prop list showing the types of props that are needed for each of the scenes. This allowed us to be organised when coming to film our soap trailer as it allowed us to prepare everything we needed for that scene.

I created this list and retrieved pictures from the internet linking closely to the types of props we were going to use. I wrote a brief explanation on what/how the props were going to be used in the scene.

Costumes

During the process of creating this list, we focused on using connotations for each of the characters as in all soaps, films, dramas etc... connotations are used all the time. We did this by using the colours on the clothing to connote the way each of the characters are feeling or the type of atmosphere they are in.

Equipment

Producing this list was very simple as the equipment needed to film our soap were the obvious; camera, tripod, memory cards and editing software. All of this (apart from the editing software) we needed three of as each one of us needed one each.

Abi Crafter created this list as myself and Matt Bigg was not needed being it was an individual job.

Locations

We took pictures of the places we were going to film our scenes and explained why they were suitable for the type of scene it was. One of our locations (the house) was allowed to be used for multiple scenes as half of our soap trailer is focused inside a house.

Animatic Storyboard

We animated our storyboard we created earlier using the pictures we took. Doing this allowed us to outline the way we were going to edit our soap and explain why we decided to edit our soap in such a way.

Second Draft Script

We carrried on from our first draft of the script by adding stage directions and timings to it. This developed our script even further allowing it to become close to its final edit and doing this in stages allowed us to focus on other assets to our soap.

Photographic Storyboard

We took pictures of the type of scenes we are going to shoot when producing our soap. We did not use the locations we plan on using when creating the photographic storyboard as it was not essential as we just needed to show what the general idea is for the scene and what type of shot is going to be used in the final piece.

Initial Script

We all sat around as a group and came up with the script by combining our suggestions together and trying to make the dialogues as short as possible as it is only a soap trailer, not a episode.

Intial Storyboard

We all contributed equally to the storyboard by dividing up the sections and deciding on whos drawing what. I contributed to section 1 and 5, underneath we decided what the scene was, what characters are involved and the type of shot that will be needed.

Trailer Narrative

We created our trailer narrative presenting it as a radio show. I contributed by coming up with the idea of the radio show as I got the idea from the radio show Heart FM. We asked a couple of people to be the main speakers in the show just to explain everything about our soap and mention the key information what it is called and when it is on.
